Obituary for Cherie Lynn Raker
Cherie Lynn (Moke) Raker, 61, of Bellevue joined the angels after a 4 year battle with cancer. Cherie entered heaven on November 7, 2016 at 6:02 p.m.
She was born on February 25, 1955 in Peoria, the daughter of Sharon Deer and Charles Moke. She married Scott Raker on September 27, 2002; he survives. Also surviving are her mother, Sharon Deer of Bartonville; step mother, Delores (Dee) Moke of Camanche, IA; daughters, Kimberly (Todd) Wyatt of Covington , KY, Heather (Michael) Blackwell of Groves, TX; granddaughters, Ashlee (Tyler Tucker) Goodwin, Brooke Goodwin, Kennedy Wyatt, Lauren Buffington, Hannah and Chloey Blackwell; great-granddaughter, Kimberlynn Grace Buffington; sister, Diane (Geoff Griffin) Zook; brother-in-law, Mike (Phyllis) Raker of Bellevue; nephews, Brian (Shelia) Reinhart, Chuck Moke III, Casey Moke, Curtis Moke, Cody Raker; nieces, Christine (Jorge) Carlos, Cara (Andrew) Parise, Jessica (Luke) Kerley and 16 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Moke Sr. and brothers, Charles (Chuck) Moke Jr. and William (Bill) Moke. Cherie was employed by Canteen at Caterpillar Head quarters for 20 plus years. She met life long friends while employed there. She was loving, caring and always went over and beyond to help anyone. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by family and friends. She loved the outdoors gardening, fishing and camping. Special thanks to Aunt Debbie Whitby and all those involved in the care of Cherie including Dee, Kim and Heather for their love and support during her home care. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 12th at White Rose Fellowship Church in Bellevue and a celebration of Life at the Bartonville American Legion Limestone Post 979 at 3:00 p.m. after services. Pastor Shane will officiate. Donations may be made to American Cancer Center or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her name.
