Obituary for Chase Robert Copelen
Chase Robert Copelen, 42, of Pekin passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on August 21, 1983, in Pekin to Michael and Kathryn Garmon Copelen. His maternal grandmother, Diane Garmon; paternal grandparents, Harley Copelen, Nancy Schultz and uncles, Pat Copelen and Steven Garmon preceded him in death.
Chase is survived by his daughter, Makenzleigh Ann Copelen; parents, Michael and Kathryn Copelen; siblings, Michael (Mona) Copelen, Stephanie Copelen; stepsister, Stacey Copelen-Potts; nieces and nephews, Kaden, Dalton, Kelsey, Konnor, Kody, Lexi, Maya, Cooper, Cash; grandfather, David Garmon and aunt, Kathy Saunders.
He worked as an electrician for KDJ.
Chase loved his family, especially his daughter, nieces and nephews. He also loved fishing and motorcycle races. He enjoyed the outdoors.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 343 Buena Vista Ave., Pekin, IL 61554.
Memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin in his name.
