Obituary for Charmin Desiree Dooley
Charmin Desiree Dooley, age 63, of Peoria, Illinois, was granted her angel wings early Sunday morning, January 10th, 2021, at Sharon Elms Healthcare, Peoria, Illinois.
Charmin was born on February 6, 1957 in Peoria, Illinois, to Douglas C. Dooley and Lenor A. (Waddell) Winders. Charmin graduated from Manual High School in Peoria, Illinois. She resided in her dwelling in Peoria, Illinois, until 2012, when she moved to Sharon Elms Healthcare, until her departure of life.
Charmin initially made her living as a Hair Dresser at Shear Sensations, in Chillicothe, Illinois, and then transitioned into the hospitality profession where she made her living catering and bartending for various organizations to include the Peoria Civic Center, Barracks Catering, Willow Knolls Country Club and Pekin Country Club. Some of her hobbies as a young girl were playing basketball and running track. When she became a Momma and Auntie, she enjoyed singing and dancing to disco music with her daughters and nieces; in fact, her nieces’ fondest memories are her dressing ‘to the nines’. Charmin had impeccable taste, loved dressing up and insisted on always having her hair, nails and make-up done!
She is survived by one daughter, Natosha K. Dooley of Peoria, Illinois, her niece Michelle (Peter) Silman, Uncle Steve (Sherrie) Dooley and two great nephews Taylor and Zachary Silman. Charmin was especially fond and proud of both of her daughters Natosha and Jazmine, whom she loved unconditionally. They were both equally treasured and brought endless delight. Charmin loved the Lord with all her heart and showered others with grace, warmth, acceptance and gratitude. She rarely ever knew a stranger and greeted all she came in contact with an enormous smile, a warm hug and continuously shared joy with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Jazmine C. Dooley, along with Charmin’s two sisters Martha J. Hardin and Diane K. Harris, and both of her parents.
Charmin will be cherished as a Momma, an Auntie, a friend, and will be dearly missed by her daughter Natosha, her niece Michelle, great nephews, her friends and family, and the staff of Sharon Elms Healthcare. The family would like to extend an especially warm “thank you” to the staff at Sharon Elms for providing Charmin with years of nurturing care, unconditional love and support.
Per her request cremation rites have been accorded by the Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria and they are assisting the family with arrangements. A private graveside service will be done at a later date and burial of the ashes will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, Illinois.
