Obituary for Charles H Bowton
Charles H. Bowton, 73, of Canton passed away on Saturday October 6, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Canton on November 28, 1938 to Clyde and Zola Hargiss Bowton. He married Joyce Kinzer 53½ years ago on January 7, 1959 in Canton. She survives along with his children, Timothy (Tammy) Bowton, Muriel (Charles) Shockency, Martin (Lisa) Bowton and Aaron (Mary) Bowton all of Canton; grandchildren, Becky Clark, Nathan Bowton, Tiffany Shockency, Savanna Shockency, Mandy Barnes, Kayley Ann Bowton, Ariel Bowton, Joshua Bowton, Jessica Bowton and Austin Bowton. He also leaves behind his eleven great- grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren and sister, Muriel (James) Widger of Canton. His parents; brothers, Robert, Ralph and LaVern Bowton and sister, Marjorie Briggs preceded him in death. Charles served in the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years and was the Maintenance Supervisor at Prairie View Nursing Home in Lewiston. He loved his children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and his dog Bubbabear. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and belonging to “Fishing Pals” in Virginia, IL. Per his wishes no services will be held.
