Obituary for Catherine M. Walker
Catherine M. Walker, age 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born November 6, 1958, in Ridgewood, NJ to Ora D. (Eggers) and Henry (Bill) F. Walker.
Catherine attended St. Bernard and White Grade Schools, Peoria High School, and Illinois Central College.
She began her working career as a film technician for Peoria Public Library, downtown branch, sub-basement. She was part of the team to open our Peoria Sam’s Club in 1990, later she moved to Ruppman Marketing, now HGS, where she worked for over 20 years.
She enjoyed needle crafts, reading, video games and time with family and friends, specially her nephew, Bill.
She is survived by her mother, Ora Walker, sister, Cecelia (Richard) Walker-Walter, nephew, William (Iggy Heath) Walter, and many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Peoria and Effingham Illinois areas.
Catherine was preceded in death by her father, Henry Walker, and her grandparents.
The family would like to thank the UIC Liver Transplant team and the wonderful caregivers at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice.
