Obituary for Catherine "Cathy" Ann Cordts
Catherine “Cathy” Ann Cordts 56, of Pekin passed away on Friday April 17, 2009 at her residence. Born in Peoria to Roy G. and Eulala “Lala” Waterman Cordts on June 3, 1952. She is survived by her mother of Pekin, brothers; Richard “Dick” (Sheryl) of Peoria, Roy George Cordts II of Palau Island Philippines, sisters; Eileen (Ron Walbert) Thomas of Manito and Julie Kirchoefer of Germantown Hills. She was also a beloved aunt to her 7 nephews and 4 nieces. Her father preceded her in death. Cathy worked in Retail Sales and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, St. Joseph Mission Society and the Council of Catholic Women. Cathy suffered with poor health for many years, and did so with dignity and grace. She never met a stranger and accepted others with unconditional love. Cathy will be remembered by her sweet disposition and endearing smile. A funeral mass will be held at her church on Tuesday April 21, at 11:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to her church or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary in Pekin.
