Obituary for Carolyn Sue Moore
Carolyn Sue Moore, 67, of Manito passed away peacefully on March 17, 2017 at her home. Born on July 9, 1949 in Lackey, KY to Christina and William Lyons. She married Dencil Moore on August 23, 1968; he preceded her in death in 2009. Surviving are her children, Kris (Russ) Mounts and Bo (Gary) Moore. Also surviving were the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Darien Strawbridge, Taylar Moore and Ezra Russell; along with her brothers, James (Franny) Lyons, Freddy Lyons, Eugene Lyons and sisters, Dottie French and Elizabeth (Gaye) Nelson. Additionally all of her countless other “kids” who affectionately referred to her as “Momma Moore” survive. Her parents; sister, Norma Kinne, and brother, Richard Lyons preceded her in death. Carolyn spent many years as a homemaker and bartender at the Manito Tap. She enjoyed fishing with her brother James, swimming in her pool, playing poker, Sunday nights at the Manito Tap, and most of all her grandchildren, Darien, Taylar and Ezra were her life force. From playing games and having long meaningful talks with the girls to teaching her great grandson to “pat a cake”, the unique special bond she had with each one of them was truly beautiful. She will be deeply missed by many as she had one of the most generous and compassionate spirits around. Cremation will be accorded and no services are planned, per her request. A “Celebration of Life” will take place at the Manito Tap at a later date.
