Obituary for Carol Metros
Carol Joy (Berge) Metros, 75, of Peoria, peacefully entered into her eternal life at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born May 7, 1934, in Chicago, daughter of Jack O. and Hazel Henot Berge. She married Thomas Metros on December 7, 1956 in Chicago. They were married 28 years when Tom died in 1985. Carol was blessed to find another true love in her lifetime, enjoying her last 16 years with her best friend and beloved soul mate, Fred Julien. Remembering Carol are her children, Leslie Cheak (Rob Johnson) of Peoria, Nick Metros of Chicago, Jeanne Metros of Peoria, and Lynne (Chris) Sopher of Peoria. Her memory is also cherished by her extended Julien family, including Fred’s sons Fred III (Linda), Mike (Judy), David (Mary Ellen), and Jim, and their many children and grandchildren. Carol is also survived by her sister Jeanne (Lee) Frick of South Beloit and her brother, Jack (Mary Pat) Berge of Chicago. Carol was sweet, smart, and had a beautiful smile.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, crafting, and took great joy in her home. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Carol’s family gives special thanks to the Methodist Medical Center Hospice team, namely Laura, Judy, Linda, and Karen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Methodist Hospice Services. A private celebration of Carol's life has been arranged for the family. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
