Obituary for Bob Bohler
Bob G. Bohler, 75, of Canton went peacefully to his Heavenly Home at 1:56 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 surrounded by family in Canton. He was born June 30, 1942 in Canton the son of Otto and Emma Ellis Bohler. He is survived by his wife, Grace of 44 years; son, Robert Hart of Canton; daughter, Dawn (Chris) Slater of Peoria; five grandchildren, Matthew Petersen, Blake Obrien, Amanda Hart, Austin Hart, Ryan Slater; sisters, Carolyn West of Canton, Kathy Hay of Gilbert, AZ and many friends, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronald Bohler and Donald Bohler both of Canton. Bob served his country for 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam era. He worked at International Harvester in Canton until its closing and then owned and operated The Pines Supper Club in Farmington, until moving to Springfield, OH and working until retirement for Navistar International. Per his request cremation has been accorded and private graveside services will be held at a later date at Wiley Cemetery in Ellisville. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you honor his memory by taking your old magazines and newspapers to a senior care center or nursing home in your area where others can benefit from these resources. Donations can also be made to a charity of your choice, the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his name.
