Blanche V. Garman 87, of Peoria, Illinois died June 7, 2017 at Heddington Oaks. She was born December 11, 1929 in Deer Creek, Illinois. She was the daughter of Frank and Ida Smith. She married Wallace A. Garman, April 29, 1949 in Washington, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2017.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Frank Smith, Norman Smith, Leland (DeDe) Smith, and Dick Giles, also 7 sisters lona Wild, Irene Schmidt, Katherine Gunyon, Bessie Place, Clara Reynolds, Margaret Cunningham, Frankie Burris.
She is survived by four children, Sandy (Mike) Arnold of Edelstein, AI Garman of Peoria, Mike (Cheri) Garman of Bartonville, and Judy (Joe) Schlosser of Peoria. Blanche has 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.
Blanche worked in the medical profession from 1962 until 1997, last working at Methodist Medical
Center.
She was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years.
Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life for Blanche and Wallace will be held at the
American Legion Post 979, Bartonville, Illinois on June 24, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. with a Military Ceremony at 2:00 p.m.
