Obituary for Betty Schmidt
Betty M. Schmidt 49, of Pekin passed away Thursday July 1, 2010 in Morton. She was born November 1, 1960 to Lester E. and Lee Ann Lemon Vogel in Pekin. She married David E. Schmidt on November 2, 1985 in Pekin. He survives along with her daughter; Kirsten Schmidt of Pekin, parents; Lester and Lee Ann Vogel of Morton, sister; Vicki (Herbert) Copeland of Pekin, nephew; Jason (Carrie) Vogel of Pekin, niece; Jamie Follis of Pekin, nephew; Matthew Fryman of Pekin, great-nephew; Keign Follis of Pekin and great-niece; Addyson Sarnes of Pekin. She was preceded in death by her sister Tracy Vogel. She enjoyed spending time with her great niece and nephew. Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where a Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday July 7, at 10 a.m. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate  with Burial following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. A Visitation will be held Tuesday July 6, at Abts Mortuary in Pekin from 5-7pm. Memorials may be made in her name at CEFCU for her daughter’s education.
