Obituary for Betty Rhoades
Betty Louise Rhoades, 81, of Pekin passed away Wednesday May 30, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She received Christ and is now with the Lord in Heaven. She was born July 17, 1930 in Pekin to Jeff and Loretta Owens. She married Harry Mayhugh, he preceded her in death. She later married Velde “Dusty” Rhoades he also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Owens and Ronald Owens and one sister, Velma Van Meltebeck. She is survived by her son, Daniel (Maricela) Mayhugh of Carmel, IN; daughter, Janet (Bill) Hurt of Morton; three grandchildren, Janelle, Gabrielle, Quentin and one great-granddaughter, Layla. She is also survived by her two sisters, Shirley Wolfe of Pekin and Edith Neal of Pekin. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for the UAW Center. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Pekin. She enjoyed having parties, especially her limbo parties. She also enjoyed fishing with “Dusty” and her dear friends. She loved her family and friends very much and will be greatly missed. Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held Monday June 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw. A graveside service will be held Monday June 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
