Obituary for Bette L. McCarthy Ashby
Bette L. McCarthy Ashby, 67, of Delavan passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on February 26, 1959, in McKeesport, PA to Jerome and Elizabeth Hilty McCarthy. Her parents; sons, Justin Gibbs, Michael Gibbs and sister, Carol McCarthy preceded her in death.
Bette married Terry A. Ashby on June 9, 2019, in Delavan; he survives. She is also survived by her son, Adam Gibbs; grandchild, Dillan Gibbs; siblings, Susan, Barbara, Pat, Kevin, Jerry and many nieces and nephews.
She loved her family. Bette also loved being at home and gardening. She enjoyed taking care of people and fishing.
Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
