Obituary for Barbara A. Smith
Barbara A. Smith, 79, of Creve Coeur passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born September 8, 1943, in Peoria to William Paul and Charlotte Harris McCartney.
She married James Smith; he preceded her in death March 15, 2000. Her parents; son, Mike Smith and brother, Bill McCartney also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Martin E. Smith, Steven E. (Marcella Strope) Smith; grandchildren, Isac Short, Matthew Smith, Gregory Smith, Bobby Smith and great-grandchildren, Lucille Smith and Layla Smith.
Barbara owned a landscaping business retiring in 2000.
She loved her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed NASCAR and playing cards at the boat. She loved her church and doing ceramics.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at First Christian Church in Creve Coeur.
