Ardyce F. Cohenour 73, of Pekin passed away on Wednesday November 5, 2008 in the Emergency Room of Pekin Hospital. Born in Morris, IL on November 8, 1934 to Arthur and Arlette Larson Hornsby. She married Richard Cohenour in Morris on June 29, 1973, he survives along with sons; Stephen (Carol) Kurtz of Pekin, Kevin Kurtz of Chicago, daughters; Lisa (Jeff) Bargar of Topeka, Karyn (Bryan) Dean of Pekin, grandchildren; Shannon Carle, Sharee Bargar, Ryan Sieh, Krista Dean, Noah Dean, Jacob Dean, her brother Arthur F. (Kathy) Hornsby of Morris, sister Alieta (Milt) Tinges of Chenoa, 2 step grandchildren and her 2 great grand and 10 step great grandchildren. Her parents and sister Beverly Cripe preceded her in death. Ardyce had a B.S. degree form the University of Iowa and College of St. Francis and was a Teacher for Dist 108 for 21 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of NEA;IEA, Cursillo, was a Notary/Auditor for the Diocese of Peoria and Pastoral Advocate for Annulment for St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin were she was a member. A visitation will be held on Friday November 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service also at the church. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or St. Joseph School. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
