Obituary for Anthony (Tony) Durbin Sr.
Anthony L. “Tony” Durbin Sr., 57, of Pekin, IL passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 14, 1956 in Pekin, IL to Aloysius and Evelyn Donaldson Durbin. He married Linda L. Mitchell February 6, 1992 in Peoria, IL. She preceded him in death April 20, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Trudy Shea; brother, Terry Durbin and step-daughter, Tara Stroud. He is survived by his sons, Anthony (Lisa) Durbin Jr. of Rolla, MO, Thomas (Janette) Durbin of Cusseta, GA; grandchildren, Autumn, Michaela, Trinity, Lane, Tristin; brothers, Lawrence (Roberta) Durbin of Sun City, AZ, Danny (Diana) Durbin of Pekin, IL, Randy (Linda) Durbin of Springfield, IL, Michael Durbin of Pekin, IL; sisters, Dolores Wolcott of Sun City, AZ, Marilyn Durbin of Pekin, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. Tony served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a steelworker for Keystone for 30 years retiring in 2005. He was a member of the American Bowling Council, National Amateur Bowling Association, Peoria Area Bowling Hall of Fame, 300 Club, Amvets and he was an avid golfer. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, October 17th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, IL at 11 a.m. Father Scott Potthoff will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his family for the education fund for his grandchildren.
