Obituary for Angelo Sangalli
Angelo J. Sangalli 90, of Pekin passed away on Saturday June 26, 2010 at his home. Born in Pekin on January 7, 1920 to Stefano and Guilia Ghiroldi Sangalli. He married Helen L. Wallinger in Davenport, IA on July 20, 1940, she preceded him in death on May 17, 1998. Ten brothers and sisters also preceded him in death. Surviving are his children: Jerome Sangalli of Morton, Nancy (Les Atwood) Gardner of Naperville, sisters: Emily Stearnes of Pekin, Irene Trapp of Bartonville, grandchildren: Michael Theobald of Los Angeles, CA, Angela Bushman of HI, Jeffery Sangalli of Pekin, Gaye Vicik of Naperville, Kristi Alexander of Tremont and his seven great grandchildren. Angelo was a retired Millwright from Corn Products, was owner of Sangalli Home Improvement Center, a Real Estate Agent for many years in Pekin, owned and operated Sangalli Builders Inc., building dozens of homes in Pekin, the last selling in February of this year finalizing his retirement. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Moose, Knights of Columbus, 4

degree and St. Joseph Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held on Tuesday June 29, at 10 a.m. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate and burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Abts Mortuary on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a wake service at 7. Additional visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church one hour prior to the funeral mass. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Joseph Catholic Church or School. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
