Obituary for Angela "Angie" M. Smothers
Angela “Angie” M. Smothers 62, of Pekin passed away on Wednesday July 9, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Paducah, KY on February 10, 1946 to James and Betty King Denton. She married Phillip Dean Smothers in Kankakee on November 2, 1962, he survives along with her parents of Paducah, KY, daughters: Trenda (Richard) Null of Pekin, Jamie (Nathan) Noyes of Manito, sister Mahala (John) Avery of Russellville, AL grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Noah and Sarah, cousin Susie King of Pekin and several nieces and nephews. Angela worked as a Hairdresser for 30 years and was a Beautician at Timber Creek Rehabilitation Center, retiring in December of 2007. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion and the Altrusa Club since 2002 where she served on various committees’ including Director and is serving as Vice President. She is a member of Gethsemane Church in Pekin where a memorial service will be held on Saturday July 12, at 4 p.m. Pastor Frank Noyes will officiate. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made in her name to the Gethsemane Church Scholarship Fund 1601 Frederick Dr. Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
