Obituary for Alvin "Bud" Rose
Alvin J. “Bud” Rose, 91, of West Peoria passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 4, 1927 in Morrison, IL to William and Winnie VanDyke Rose. He married Margaret Schaut November 25, 1950 in Mt. Carroll IL; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Melissa (Tony) Wineland of Dahinda, Ann (John) White of West Peoria; three grandchildren, Stephanie Joos, Margaret Venzon, David White; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. His parents; infant son, William Thomas Rose; three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Bud was a veteran and served in the Navy and Marine Corp. He worked as a barber for 44 years; retiring in 1994. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed golfing and playing in Dart-ball leagues. The family would like to give a special thanks to UnityPoint Hospice, the Veterans Administration and his caretaker, Brenda. Per his wishes a private family memorial service will be held. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his name.
