Obituary for Alta Leigh Strother
Alta Leigh Strother, 74, of Creve Coeur passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at her residence.
She was born September 10, 1947, in Canton to Vern and Lucille Gilmore Walton.
She married Charles H. Strother January 20, 1977, in Virginia, IL he preceded her in death April 20, 2020. Her parents and brother, Warren Walton also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Jodi (Paul Cameron) Adams, Kimberly (Carl Reedy) Sale; stepson, Chuck (Glenda) Strother; grandchildren, Danyelle (David) Hedrick, Justin Sale, Bryce Sale, Amber (Tyler Maples) Reedy; step-grandchildren, Jonathan (Tara) Strother, Brittany Strother, Joshua Strother; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Melinda (Mike) Walton, Troy Walton, Cecelia Poppenhager-Askins and many nieces and nephews.
Alta was the office manager for Creve Coeur Mobile Estates until retiring in 2001.
She loved and adored her family and her great grandkids. She also loved her dog, Scooter. Alta loved to sing and entertain. She played the piano while in many bands. One of her favorite things to do was to go in her scooter to her dear friend Sandy’s house and drink iced tea.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at The Journey Church 2022 Springfield Road, East Peoria, IL 61611 at a later date.
