Obituary for Alice J Layne
Alice J. Layne, 88, of Loveland, CO formerly of Pekin, IL passed away Saturday October 27, 2012 at her residence. She was born September 26, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Louis and Kathryn Callahan Oltman. She married Charles A. Layne June 12, 1948 in Pekin. He passed away on January 9, 1977. She is survived by her son Charles R. “Chuck” Layne of Loveland and grandchildren: Sean and Amber. Her parents and bother Robert Oltman preceded her in death. She worked for Middle States as a Telephone Operator and worked in the Treasurers and Tax Assessors offices. Alice was a member of the Ladies of Columbus where she held many offices over the years, was a member of the Democratic Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was part of the Council of Catholic Woman. A graveside service will be held Monday November 5, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin, IL at 1:00 p.m. Fr. Michael Andrejek will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic School Foundation
