Lucille Macuk (Lucy), 83, of Peoria passed away Thursday morning June 15, 2017 surrounded by family. Lucy was born to John and Helen Ahten on May 31, 1934 in Peoria, IL. On August 7, 1954 she married the love of her life and partner in crime Thomas Macuk. Lucy is survived by her 4 adoring children and their spouses; Toni (Chris) Olsen of Lake Camelot, Kris (Tom) Merrick of St. Louis, Denise (Vance) Fiddes-TerMaat of Bartonville, Tom (Maylee) Macuk of McHenry; grandchildren, Lindsey Merrick, Weston Merrick, Zac Fiddes, Alyssa Kueffner, Josh Fiddes, Dylan Macuk, Emily Macuk, Grace Macuk, and Adyson TerMaat. She was proceeded in death by her husband Tom and son Michael. The world has lost a surplus of sass as Lucille “Lucy” Macuk passed away peacefully on the morning of June 15, 2017 surrounded by family. Lucy tolerated her 5 children and raised them accordingly, but the true loves of her life were her 9 grandchildren. Lucy and Tom spent 19 winters in Texas: chewing tiny gum, drinking margaritas, and procuring haircuts that were cheaper than the gum. Lucy loved the Cubbies, laughter, her son-in- laws and daughter-in-law, Panera, acing a driver's test when everyone counted her out, Jeopardy, and her friends at St. Sharbel's and Riverplex. Not necessarily in that order. She hated pickles, the prospect of walking with a cane, dresses, water, and invisible patches of ice. Not necessarily in that order. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Coyote Creek Golf Club, 8201 W. Lancaster Rd, Bartonville, IL from 11-3.
