Obituary for Lorraine B Cook
Lorraine B. Cook, 83, of Spring Bay, died at her home Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Born April 20, 1934, in Peoria to Eugene and Bernice (Harpman) Wild, she married Dean
Cook of Galesburg in 1958. He died in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her
parents and a very talented brother, Genie.
Left on this earth still are her two daughters, Corrie (Eric) Broberg of Spring Bay and
Missy (Bruce) McWhirter of Germantown Hills; four beloved grandchildren, Justin, Jade,
Nick, and Marissa; three precious great grandchildren, Lucas, Jake, and Zoey.
She was a graduate of Manual High School and Bradley College. She taught school in
Peoria and Galesburg and then became a stay-at-home-mom. She was happiest being
involved in activities at church, school, and the community. She enjoyed going to
concerts and plays, and crafting presents to give away.
She would have wanted her friends and family to know that she is now at peace in the
presence of God. She knew she could not earn her way into heaven, it is a gift of love,
bought by the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Come near to God, and God will come
near to you. James 4:8 was one of her favorite passages from the bible.
Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
