Obituary for Irene Murphy
Irene R. Murphy, 70, from Peoria went to be with our Heavenly Father, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:11 a.m. surrounded by her loving family at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
She was born August 2, 1947 in Peoria to William and Virginia (Campbell) Doering.
She married James A. Murphy on April 28, 1976. He passed away on August 18, 2016. Also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
She is survived by her children, Laura Evans of Bartonville, James (Dora) Murphy of Chillicothe, Edward (Jennifer) Murphy of Rock Island, Jennifer Fawcett of Bartonville, Barbara Murphy-Harris of Chillicothe and Teresa (Steve) Lofthouse of Washington. She has 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, her beloved fur babies, Ben and Murph. A wonderful sister-in-law, Sharon Murphy-Polhemus, 2 brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
She retired from Bel-Wood Nursing Home in 2009. She loved yard sales and striking up deals at UFS. She wasn’t only a mother, she was also a best friend.
Cremation will be accorded, and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the American Legion dining room on Airport Road in Bartonville.
