Obituary for Gladys "Cook" Piper
Gladys “Cook” L. Piper, 67, of Peoria died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. She was born September 1, 1950 to Louis E. and Gladys A. Stage Gomes Sr. Her parents; brother, Louis Gomes Jr., and sisters, Linda Farrar and Eveah Dishman preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, James D. Piper Jr.; daughters, Mandi (Anthony) Thomas, Judith Piper, Alisa (Luke) Ramsay; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved her dearly. She worked many jobs through the years, her last being a cook at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for 15 years. She loved to cook, take a ride down a backroad, listen to music and spend time with her family. Cremation will be accorded, and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at LaFayette School 401 Adams St. Lafayette IL 61449. Family and friends invited.
