Obituary for Charles Rickena
Charles E. Rickena, 90, of Mapleton passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at Farmington Country Manor. He was born June 10, 1927 in Peoria to Clarence and Erma Davis Rickena. He married Billie Bartholomew; she preceded him in death in 2012. His parents and sister, Evelyn Bond also preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, David (Tracy) Rickena; daughter, Nancy (Jim) Hornbaker; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Delnar (Barb) Rickena and several nieces and nephews. Charles served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during WWII. He worked as a self employed Lathe and Plaster Contractor; retiring in 1980. He enjoyed camping but most of all he loved working in his business in the trade of plastering. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at his home. Memorials may be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight in his name.
